    They are a brilliant idea I reckon. The only downside - can't fit 'em to a 130 ute !

    They are indeed very handy and convenient.

    The only thing I don't like about them is you don't know which way to insert the key when they are in the locked position. I have marked mine.

    Also - spray some WD40 / RP7 into the lock. Mine have already left rust stains on the inside of the latch cavity.

    I second that, good call isuzurover. I haven't had rust but mine did start to feel like they were corroding a touch on the insides - the key 'biting' and not sliding in smoothly. Make it a fairly regular squirt and you'll be fine.

    WD40 and RP7 will only attract and retain dust/ You'd be better off using powdered graphite in the lock barrel itself to deal with the 'ease of key sliding issue'.
    The WD40 or RP7 might be OK for the working parts of the locking mechanism.
    It's not broken. It's "Carbon Neutral".
