Could it be something out of alignment or a blockage or kink in a hose?
hi guys
ive just replaced my clutch and flywheel in my 99 130 TD5
now the problem i have is a little hard to explainbut i'll give it ago
sorry i forgot i have also replaced the master and slave
right so here we go : its been bleed up and no air in the lines
and clutch pedal works fine sometimes
then all of a sudden it gets rockhard and wont depress,it sounds like its knocking inside the gearbox
but after a few wiggles of the clutch pedal it becomes free again for a couple more times then hard again.........
any ideas please
cheers Ray

Sounds like a mechanical problem rather than hydraulic. It might be the plastic throw-out bearing carrier binding on the guide.
Unfortunately whatever is causing it will likely require the gearbox to be removed to rectify the problem.

When you say it comes free after you wiggle the pedal, it doesn't sound like the box is at fault, more like your pedal is out of adjustment. Or a combination of both
Check the adjustments first, it may save a lot of work.
good luck
When you say it works fine, are you actually driving it, or are you just depressing the pedal statically?
Definitely check the adjustment of the pedal - its critical that there is sufficient free play at the top of the pedal stroke (ie foot off) or the system won't release the fluid properly after you take your foot off. I change the master in my county a few months back, and the new M/C didn't have enough threaded section to get the adjustment correct.
Didn't think too much of it until the clutch started pumping up and slipping while on the highway.
Easy solution was to swap the pushrod from the old M/C to the new one so I could get the adjustment.

As steveG says, check it first. Then next port of call will be the plastic bit in the bell housing.

well our excitment didn't last long
all is fine while the engine ain't running , but as soon as its running its a whole different story.........
we can select 1st gear but the clutch pedal doesn't disengage the clutch and is sticky,it will only fly up if you dump the clutch if you get my drift.....
please help
slave and master are brand new /new clutch pressure plate and a solid flywheel .......

Sticky pedal piviot? Does it return by hand? After applying the clutch and it sticks, can you lift the pedal by hand and is there loads of free play - may indicate the master cylinder not returning. Remove (loosen) the slave from clutch housing and operate to check the hydraulic side of things, making sure the slave doesn't fly apart. If the hydraulic side of things is ok then pull the box.
ok todays efforts
ask the local brake and clutch guy about my problem
tells me it might be air in the system, try running a hose from the slave up to the master and crack the nipple and pump all the air out
well that done and all air completely gone , clutch pedal up and down freely you can feel slight resistance as the pedal hits the floor
feels good now start the engine
but soon as you tighten the nipple up it all goes pear shaped
going by the sound and feel it makes im thinking the slave's is dodgy
