    TD5 Clutch

Hi my TD5 has now passed 266ks , I've replaced the clutch master and slave cylinders recently , There's not a lot left on the clutch . My question is recommend a good make ? as there are quite a few . Also I would appreciate your thoughts on replacing the duel mass flywheel , or just clutch and pressure plate ? I did read to change the rear oil seal while your at It , but were do you stop . I would appreciate your views from those that have been down this Rd. cheers, jimr1 ...

I just had my clutch changed the other day.
I imported a Valeo clutch kit and dual mass flywheel from UK. Cheaper than getting it here. Definitely change the rear main seal. New spiggot bush and thrust bearing.
Clutch fork was fine as they are a cast iron fork.

    Fantastic!
The pedal is a lot softer and changes are really smooth.
Very happy with the valei clutch kit.
I didn't want the heavy duty one as I don't tow much anymore and heard that they can be hard on the gearbox.

AP Racing do a fantastic clutch as used by Alive Tuning on the 180KW TD5

I don;t know if you can get them in Aussie land though - email Alive Tuning and ask them

Definitely change the rear main seal while the box is out.
Where do you stop?.... Well I'd do all the seals on the box and transfer also. It's an extra hour max for an amateur and it's simple preventative maintenance which you won't appreciate unless you don't do it.

Done mine about 6 months ago I put in a solid fly wheel and heavy duty clutch while the box was out I replaced the rear main seal all the seals in the transfer case and gear box and sump seals I done this as it was cheaper in the long run as every thing was out on the table. The solid fly wheel removed all clutch shutter and can be refaced in the fucture a duel mass is generaly a throw away item once it been burnt or the face has grooves in it the springs in a duel mass can also play up.

    TD5 Clutch

Hi fella's , Thanks for your replies . Noogie I was also looking at UK. prices , the Valeo kit looks like good value , similar $ to Britpart price wise . I took in rear main oil seal change , so will go down that Rd. as well , I was not thinking gearbox oil seals , so yes as well . It looks like Valeo clutch and flywheel kit , rear spigot bush , rear main , and gearbox seals . I must say the clutch has done well and hasn't gone yet , but It is tiered . I will feel better when It's been renewed . cheers jimr1 .

I used Island 4x4 for my clutch & flywheel Clutch Kit & Flywheel 4in1 Td5 (Valeo) DA2357G Island 4x4 - Specialists in Land Rover and Range Rover Parts and accessories for all models. UK and worldwide mail order. along with eight of these Flywheel Bolt Td5 (Genuine) ERR6581LR Island 4x4 - Specialists in Land Rover and Range Rover Parts and accessories for all models. UK and worldwide mail order. also bought this as well Clutch Bearing (Britpart Heavy Duty) FTC5200HD Island 4x4 - Specialists in Land Rover and Range Rover Parts and accessories for all models. UK and worldwide mail order. Postage is not cheap (£240), but the parts aren't light either. Postage cost was for a load of other stuff as well including other heavy things like brake pads, gearbox mounts. The complete order was delivered in two parcels. I think just the clutch & flywheel kit would have been £120 postage, but don't quote me on that.
