HI ALL
IVE GOT A 300TDI DEFENDER THAT SMOKES A BIT OF DIESEL WHEN UNDER LOAD. I AM THINKING INJECTORS.....
I AM LOOKING AT CHANGING THEM FOR NEW. IS THERE ANY FINE TUNING I NEED TO DO ON NEW INJECTORS ? OR ARE THEY A FIT AND OFF THEY GO ??

1998 300 Tdi Defender Trayback 2006 - often fitted with a Trayon slide-on camper.
the pump was changed 6 months ago after the old one sprung a leak. it was smokey with the old pump. i didnt think there was any adjustment on the pump...... but you are now the second person to tell me there is. i know you can adjust the idle speed.

before buying new - take out your injectors, get them tested.
Injector replacement is fit and go.
Air system and filters all good?
Has it always smoked or is this a recent thing? Is it down on power?
Air and filters are all good.
It smoked on the old pump aswell. the power is pretty good.
If i could keep the power but get rid of the smoke that would be perfect !
