Doesn't really work outside Africa... And even there you would raise frowns if you are not employed on a game farm or a national park.
I've seen some very creative vinyl wraps on Defender though. A while back there was one for sale done up in a digital desert camo wrap that was pretty impressive and the wraps are removable when the novelty wears off.

I've always thought of having zebra stripes only on the sides, fading out when they get almost window height.
