Ive said this before about most modern designed cars is that I know personally I will get bored of them because they are so comfortable and refined that you feel like you are just driving another car that looks different. Even though they can near match the defender in some areas of 4 Wheel driving.

I love the ridculous bodyroll when cornering hard, the feedback through the chassis and tyres, and it's a blank canvas you can build on. I will never get bored of the Defender, it may wear me down eventually though .

The Landcruiser is so damn expensive for an entrty level vehicle and the Ford Ranger as you said. Both very nice capable cars.

Good sum up...that's pretty much how I feel...the defenders do have good breaks and the road feel/steering is better then most other 4wd's...

Personally I dislike IFS due to there being more moving parts that are vulnerable and weak and for the areas I drive in live fronts hold up better
