Four longer bolts and four spacer blocks (or washers) will give your seat a lift if that's all you want, without the expense of extension rails.

    Smile mud rails

im 6ft 2 and the seat rails work for me, have taken them off as i thought they seemed high but put them back on after a 5k trip around town. they do cut down vis out of the side window at junctions but a lean forward doesn't hurt….i have put a smaller wheel on also, one of the best mods to date for me….

I on the other hand found the rails ideal. Inheriting gazcoonars rails... I put them on my 110. I am 6'2".. The rails give ample room so leg clearance from steering wheel is good. And the loss of headroom isn't an issue.

I think the rails would be ideal for anyone 6 foot to about 6'4"

Noted, in this case I'm happier using an engineered product that has good resale.

Vs removing four spacers and longer bolts????

Just under 6'2" with silly long pins, (something like a 36" inseam) and 22mm spacers work well at getting the rails above the rear lip height so I have ample adjustment to get the legs in.
It looks factory as the entire seat rail assembly is original, it's just been raised 7/8".

Yes, vision is slightly compromised, but it all depends on back length vs leg length.

[edit] Actually a 37" inseam according to some old bike setup numbers I just found!
I'm short torso/long legs so raising the seat works.

    Hi Bud

Have a look at the Mulgo website he has the seat rail extensions you require.
I have a pair in my Def 130.

    Cheers

I have been toying with buying a 110 for a while now. My only hurdle, height.

I'm 6'7"/2m tall. I think the extensions will be enough for me but the helpful guys at Landrover can't help me out. I even offered to buy the rails if they would give me a vehicle to test over the weekend. Nothing.

Anyway, anybody in Brisbane have the rails fitted to a late model 110 and be willing to let me sit in their vehicle?

    Any help greatly appreciated.

I am 6'4" and drove my 110 for years without seat extenders. Put some in about a year ago ( mud uk ones not mulgo despite living here, IMHO they look more factory) took some getting used to the height difference but it's ok now. Whilst the extra travel is great I could happily live without them but I have been driving LRs since I wasn't 6'4 so may be I have grown into them.

I'm 6'2", and definitely noticed the extra height reducing visibility, so at 6'7" it might be a real problem.

I'm in the Redlands if you would still like to sit in a Defender with seat rails (Mud rails from the UK). PM me if you would like to catch up some time.

I test drove a Defender yesterday, I am 6'0" and it was fine for me. I wouldnt want to have a raised position either with different seat rails.
