Problem with Electric Window - drivers side 2003 Defender

Looking for help with an electronic window problem.
firstly can I override the failure to CLOSE the window.. Security is an issue...

It was playing up before it died.. would not wind up when the door was open.. is it an earth problem.
I have checked the Fuse- OK, Checked the switch - swapped it over with the Passengers side - still no luck...

I have swapped over the relays and still had no luck..
Is it likely to be a failed motor.. Any idea of availability & cost / cost to get installed... or from the above is it a wiring issue...

There appears to be power to the window winder motor - goes off when pressed to go up, but nothing when pressed to go down...
Is it an auto eleckie problem or straight to MR Automotive - Redcliffe..

    Cheers

My 2003 TD5 has done this a couple of times, in my case it was the wiring that goes int he rubber flexible tube between the door and the pillar. The wires had chaffed through. always the Driver's door.

Thanks for the insight - you were on the money

All fixed & didn't require a new motor

Yup, lots of these do this, last one I had also shorted the central lock wires and caused the alarm system fuse to blow. No central locking and no disarm, either
