    TD5 AOB 2nd compressor location/configuration

    Hi guys,

Have the opportunity to buy a 300TDI a/c compressor for $20 and it got me thinking about an on board air setup. Now i am not game enough to not have a/c so i wanted to know if a dual compressor setup has been done on a TD5 before, or get some insight into how plausible it would be.

    Would appreciate any information

    Thanks

Theoretically, IF you can find somewhere to mount it, and a way to drive it..

Cost will be prohibitive to the point an ARB Dual will serve most of your needs for a lot less...

I think Disco_2 did this on his D1 ute conversion or maybe Stirlo?
    He had pics as well.

Has your td5 got aircon already? If so it's very difficult. Can be done by mounting it low down on the left hand side of the engine. Will require clever custom brackets though, not an enviable task. On the other hand if you don't have aircon, happy days.

Yeah it has got A/C and would rather keep it over on board air

forget the ARB 12v air compressors - they have short life span and not enough air flow - just make up brackets and fit an AC compressor - get a small compressor off a small jap crap car.

    I just picked up a D1 a/c compressor for $10

I was hoping to make that fit

    Daniel,

Do you have any pics of the installation or drawings of the brackets?

    Cheers,

    Franz
