The switches are not likely rated for many amps but an air locker uses a relay so the switch is adequate for that job. I put my locker switch being the factory style switch from Daniel in the bank of 3 on the right of the dash so it was between the steering wheel and gear stick. Easy to flick on and off as you need. It would require you relocating the other switches. My puma 130 doesn't have the mod cons of the 110 so working out what is your best location for your switches isn't a dilemma for me.
It would look damn sight better than carling switches bolted to the side of the dash. Your mechanic is short on imagination and lacks aesthetic intelligence.

Thanks. Sanity has prevailed and my mechanic is going to fit the Mulgo switches I am picking up on Monday.
I can't believe he wanted to drill holes in the side of the dash when these switches are available
