Flick them an email and see what they could deliver one for. That would give you another starting point for your calculations.
    Don.
There was a guy in Vic importing and selling them.
There was a guy on this forum doing same.

When I needed parts for my rebuild, I tried Aus, NZ, USA, UK, Germany and Sth America.

Only 2 places had or could supply parts, in the end it was M&D in the UK.

If I had my time over, I would not do the 2.8Tgv swap.

What we need is a quote from a builder on what 12K would get you with the Tdi,Turner Eng would return something nice with change, with the other 10K Ashcrofts would give you a killer powertrain and Ultimate a nice suspension set-up. Pat

Or a 9~10k perentie and spend 10k on it.

Or buy a good td5. Get a few better things than just a engine. .

21k + the sale price of the 110 will get you a Puma...

Or as you say, $10k perentie, $5k turbo and PAS and swap the goood bits over (and maybe body) from the 110.

    2.8tgv

thanks for all the input as usual always a great forum with so many willing to share there knowledge.
think I will go the 300 rebuild with a few mild extras east coast engineering at Nambour on the sunshine coast have a good reputation , already got larger intercooler and full maxi drive setup. engine is standard except for a very slight fuel tweak.
got a couple of oil leaks rear main and maybe t seal, rear main started leaking 50,000ks ago after clutch was done think he used a cheap seal .
had the defender about 9 years never missed a service. know the previous owner who had it from new I can honestly say this vehicle has never broken down had a few issues but always started first go.
leaves the 2001 td5 disco I had for dead in the reliability stakes, but that one never actually stoped just had a lot of lights on when I sold it.
    thanks again cheers

What about getting a motor from turners and just getting it installed?

At $22k your getting into chev tdv8 territory. This along with other options like 3.2 puma, tdv6 LR (bell in uk has done these)or a turbo Isuzu and a lot of soundproofing. go up a bit and you could do a dura max 6.6 tdi with an Allison auto like one of the other defender owners did. 1000nm may be a bit much for a standard tranny.

As an option you could look at the 300tdi 2.8 stroker kits on ebay.uk if your going the full rebuild, i have no experience with them but its another option if your engine is going to need reboring and crank grinding.
