Thread: Taller gearing?.285 75 or disco transfer?

Hi there
Im trying to find out what would bring the revs down more on a 300tdi 110.
265 75 16 with a disco 1 transfer case or 285 75 16 with the standard 1.4 transfer case?
Im about to replace my transfer with a recon one and I have both tyre sizes already. Im assuming the 265s with the 1.2 transfer would be slightly more economical or do you think there will be very little difference.

I have 285/75's (these are used off road only) with a Disco 1:2 transfer box. I use 7.50s on road and the revs have dropped significantly with both sets of tires. Well worth it I reckon.
