    Hi Toxic,

My 2013 2.2 recently developed a small leak from the bottom of the bell housing. As it was under warranty, I took it back and it ended up being the rear main seal.

Dealer had the vehicle for about 3 days.

If you have the warranty, I would certainly get it fixed. Get a small leak fixed before it becomes a larger problem

    cheers,

    Wayne

Any leak is a bad leak get it fixed especially if under warranty one less thing to have to worry about plus they make a **** of a mess flicking oil and crap everywhere. My td5 had rocker cover leak, engine sump and transfer box inspection plate leaking 2 new gaskets and a tube of worth rtv I no long leave my mark and dont have to keep checking my oil...

Old bloke from the landrover parts place that i got the gaskets from laughed and said only landrovers that dont leak oil are ones that have run out but so far so good proving him wrong for now haha

Some have taken their Land Rovers back for warranty repair when they have been trivial problems.

Your oil leak may only need a slight tighten of a component, a degrease and wash down.

    Thread Dig!

Turns out it was a leak at the 'cam box' aka rocker cover.

    As previously mentioned...

I get customers Defenders TDCi (Puma) in all the time, none are as bad as that.

Its got a warranty, hammer them to sort it out.

One thing on a Defender puma gearbox, if its over filled they are prone to leaking from the front/rear main seal on the box.

    Regards
    Daz

My front diff rear seal leaks a tiny bit. Has done since the last service. I've put it down to possible over filling and shuffled it of to the back of my mind. Every now and then though I look at it and wonder. It does niggle a bit.
    Cheers, Billy.
    Keeping it simple is complicated.
