To answer your question - if it was cheap enough. However don't underestimate how much work replacing the dash will be - and maybe even a complete new loom...
    What he said...

DCP gets into every single nook and cranny. And then eats more than a family of rats in a warehouse full of food. it just takes a bit longer.

Bargain for a total interior strip & scrub, and then do it again, and again....

Slightly off topic, but yep I know all about it, 3 months ago one of the crew on the company fish trawler shot a flare of inside the wheelhouse, was put out with DPC and that done more damage to the boat than the flare.

Not 1 piece of electronics was saved, forget the bill but it was $60,000 +

As MLD points out, in NSW there is no longer any such thing as a repairable write off. If it is written off, it can never be registered in NSW, and probably other states as well. And other states can be expected to follow suit in (near) the future.

Even if this does not present an immediate problem in the NT, it may limit options for reselling it into the future.

Well had a closer look and under the passenger seat is 1 battery, everything looks ok, just a spaghetti junction of wiring even has wiring for a 2nd battery...under drivers seat ?? , couldn't get the drivers seat to lift so could look under there but crawled underneath and no serious isuues with wiring I could see. Except for the top of the steering wheel the drivers side is reasonable, even the dash. From the stereo to the passenger door is just a melted blob, but cant see any heat damage to the firewall., basically up for a good clean and new interior.

    Couple questions.

With battery where it is I guess you can only have the defender style seats.

its 10/02 model so anything else , other than the normal TD5 issues to look for ? see it has CDL so unlike the 02 disco.

Priced up a dash out of a puma today and thought it was pretty reasonable. Any other things from a puma fit...seats etc.

    Thanks and Cheers Ean
