    Black Duck seat covers

    Hi All

Can anyone who has a set of Black Duck canvas seat covers on their Puma please enlighten me as to how the front seat bases attach? Do you have to remove the seat bases to fit the covers (with the seat base attachment pegs at the back poking through the cover), or do you just strap them over the top of the seat base like any old four wheel drive seat cover?

After several weeks of phone calls and e-mail earlier this year, I got my hands on a lovely set of Melvill & Moon covers. Unfortunately, my seat bases won't stay clipped in place, so I'm now reassessing.

Yeah they come in 3 bits for front seats, and you remove the ass rest and velcro it on, its pretty self explanatory

Try SupaFit Seat Covers in Welshpool.
Awesome quality, tailored to fit, and a great price.

(and they support the Land Rover community too by giving 10% off to TeamW4 members!)

What seems to be the problem with your M&M covers? I've had mine on for 3 odd years now and I don't have issues with them. I take them off now and then, give them a wash and put them back on.

You do un-clip the seat base and pull them nice and tight, but they always clip back in, no issue. You are welcome to have a look at mine if you anywhere near the northern suburbs.

They are awfully pricey to buy and not use...

The best alternative as AussieAub wrote is the Supafit ones we get on discount through the club.

    Cheers,

    Lou

Unfortunately, since fitting my M&M seat covers, the driver's seat base will not stay clipped in under any circumstances and the passenger's seat base can be a bit temperamental and occasionally pop out as well.

I contacted M&M and they said that they've never had this problem, so I took it up with the dealer and via Land Rover Australia, they've had word from Land Rover South Africa that it's a common problem there when people fit these covers. However, Land Rover have no technical fix for it. Unfortunately Land Rover no longer sell the seat base clips individually, so if I want to replace the now deformed one on the driver's seat, I have to buy a new seat frame. Hopefully I can source clips from elsewhere.

Anyway, it's all a moot point now, because a local four-wheel drive accessories shop managed to cover them in grime while working on my car the other day, and I doubt it's going to wash out...

    Hi jimb,

They custom make the seat covers and they made a set for a Freelander 1 (one of our club members) the other day measuring the seats and they look fantastic. I'm pretty sure they will have the Defender pattern by now!

No harm in contacting them and getting a quote I suppose.

    Cheers,

    Lou
