I am not familiar with the defender, but is it to do with the EGR being blanked off. ?
Cheers Ean
(2002 TD5- defender 110) Attached to the drivers side top edge under the bonnet just forward of the wing plastic cover are two valves. I guess they may be something to do with the turbo. Anyway just found a bluey/green tube coming from each which is blocked off with a 5mm bolt.
Would appreciate any info identifying these valves marked (PA6.6GF35) and why the tubes are blanked off.

It is EGR as Ean has suggested. Has your EGR valve been removed? Usually this is why these are blanked off. FYI the EGR is more trouble than it is worth. If it has not been removed get a blanking kit and do it. Also pull off your intake manifold as it will need a clean if it has not already been done, They get full og gunge from the EGR. Some people just blank the pipe to stop the EGR from actually actuating.

Thanks Guys, I am adding some wiring in this area and can now confidently secure these two pipes out of the way. I will also get on to that inlet manifold.
Realy appreciate your advice.
cheers Obi
