I would change your fuel filter as a start seems like fuel starvation if you can't get it to rev past a certain point while under load its either that or fuel pump on its way... both these faults wont show a fault on your nano but start cheap and do filters after that try check fuel pressure and go from there.

A mate of mine also has an 02 110 TD5. He loves to tinker on his motor. So he thought his car was bit down on power and he replaced the airflow/mass metre thingy but also completely removed his EGR. When he took it off the amount og soot that came out was amazing.
Anyway his car pulls up hills in top gear whereas I've got to drop back to 4th, both running discovery transfer cases.
    Just thought I'd share that.
    Cheers

AFAIR , as I rarely look at my nanocom, that all looks pretty normal.

So I would be looking at a blocked fuel filter, failing fuel pump or blockage

from crud in the fuel pump filter, and maybe the air filter.

Also maybe look at the intercooler connecting pipes , as they may delaminate at higher boost.

I'll try and grab a fuel filter today , air filter looks ok could well be de laminating inter cooler pipes but I'd expect that after a long drive I'd get the symptoms in 1st 2nd and 3 rd...... Fuel pump is less than 1000 kms old so if it's that I'll be ropeable ..... I'll check for those little filters in the fuel line to filter plugs to

Do you see figures o 500+ on the MAF (airflow) when you put your boot into it?
If you dont maybe disconnect the MAF and see if there is any difference
A 1000 ks fuel pump shouldn’t exclude it from suspicion particularly if it was a cheapie,

Also another thing to check would be the catalytic converter since you dont mention what year it is im only guessing it has one but if its blocked or broken down would restric the engine. Although my guess would still be on fuel and you should never assume something is good even tho its new so fuel pump Is still worth a look

Yea it will jump well into the 400's in first second and third bit sits around four hundred mark when getting up to highway speed.
Changed the fuel filter ... Now the bugger won't start....got both battery's charging and I'll give it a go in the morning...... Seeing as the old fuel pump (ome) wasn't the initial issue I'm going to reinstall tomorrow if I either can't get it started or it's still gutless in 4th-5th

Re the maf it was replaced with a vdo Unit 4 months ago... Guess I should check the fuel pump relay as well.... Sounds strange but it was swaped out with the aircon relay and shut down the relay

Thanks all...... Realy is starting to look like the pump

Charge your batteries, in the morning turn the ignition on and stamp on the throttle pedal 10 times quickly.
The bleed process will start now go and make a cup of coffee
When you come back it will likely start
The relay on the fuel pump will not have your characteristics in my experience.
With a faulty relay they will drive but its noticeable even in first and second.
If the vehicle has a Catalytic Converter it could be blocked causing issues like those you describe.

Yea djam1 did that last night and thismorning.....replaced the old fuel pump and she's a goer..would not expect to be having fuel issues for a while . It seems to have been the seals and injector washers and the crappy cheep pump that have caused all the issues.....now revs freely into the 3000 rpm range in all gears crept 5th but I was up around 120 kms at that point and treasure my licence....

One more to warn on cheep fuel pumps ... It did get me out of trouble as I didn't have the cash for a new one . Start with the cheep things first then the bloody pump
    Thanks all
