The Td5 90 had a bit of help. You can hear the diff lock compressor going after it stops on the first section.
I was looking around youtube and stumbled onto this clip and thought you guys might like it. Personally I think both cars seem to be evenly matched,it's a very good demonstration of the flex Land Rovers have.

Might be the perfect thread for me to ask the question, if you can't get a Defender would you settle for a second hand Disco i.e. TD5?
You will pay 2/3-1/2 what you would for the same year defender.
So a 2002 td5 defender is about $15-22,000 a 02 td5 disco is $7-16,000.
A D2 has more overhangs, more rust spots but is far quieter and has a 100inch wheelbase compared to a defenders 110. Also the D2 has different wheel stud pattern, same as Newer RRp38 on , D3/4 and maybe Amarok I think. A D2 also has different cv joints to D1 and defender.
All up it depends upon your planned use. As a towing vehicle either is a good choice with rear airbags an easy option and standard on top spec D2's.
Touring both good but defender has a larger payload and more room.
Bush bashing/ mud plugging/ rock crawling etc , all depends upon how far and how many dollars you want to spend, defender is more easily modified to 35-37 inch tyres and has shorter overhangs. but if you save 5-10k and buy a D2 you have more $$$ for options.
I've never seen rust on a D2. The D1's certainly did though. Even the steel for my guard chop was left untreated about 10 years ago and still hasn't rusted.
Cheers
