    Puma fault code P1336

    Hi all,
    I went for a bit of fun this weekend and when climbing a very steep hill, I manage to stall the engine (followed by a stall start). then the engine light went on.I turned off the engine and the light was gone.

    I went home and scaned the fault code, it turns out to be:
    P1336 Ford - Crankshaft Position Or Camshaft Position Sensor Input Signal Error

    Possible causes
    - Faulty Crankshaft Position Sensor
    - Faulty Camshaft Position Sensor
    - Crankshaft Position Sensor harness is open or shorted
    - Crankshaft Position Sensor circuit poor electrical connection
    - Camshaft Position Sensor harness is open or shorted
    - Camshaft Position Sensor circuit poor electrical connection

    When is the code detected?
    The Engine Control Module (ECM) has detected a synchronization or signal error from the cam or crank sensors

    Possible symptoms
    - Engine Light ON (or Service Engine Soon Warning Light)
    - Lack/Loss of Power
    - Engine Stall
    - Engine difficult to start


    so what does it mean? Should I go back to the dealer and get it checked? or this is normal when you stall a modern engine full of electronics?
    If anyone can shed any light on this, I would be grateful.

    Hi,
    I have had a few scares after a stall, with the engine doing strange things like starting, but not giving any power and stalling again.
    Now, if I stall I switch off for a few seconds, then re-start.
    Haven't had the problem again since using this.

    To register an error takes milliseconds... Sometimes they are "ghosts in the machine" other times more exploration is required.

    How the hell did you stall with the anti-stall software in low range? I've had all 4 wheels spinning (diff locks) with my foot off the accelerator and it never looked like stalling.

    Clear the code and don't worry about it.
    The ecu or pcm is looking for inputs all the time, stalling it has thrown a code as the ignition is on and the engine isn't running so the ecu/pcm throws a **** fit and logs a code. as long as that code doesn't reappear in the next few drive cycles then theres no fault.
