Not sure why they'd fold in.The mounts are identical to factory.

apparently the internals of the mirror are not to good. thanks for responding its always good to get first hand accounts.
I think I might get them.

I've put these on my 110 as well. Britpart sell them as an unbreakable mirror. The work fine and they have the added benefit that you can flip them from 'portrait' mode to 'landscape' mode, which I suppose wuld be good if you were towing and needed a wider mirror. Personally, I wouldn't have chosen them if I knew what the mounting knob looked like, I think they're ugly compared to the originals, or even the convex, but at least the glass won't break.

The trick is to use the middle of the image when reversing, instead of the distorted image at the edge of the mirror.

Convex mirrors do make it hard to estimate headlight distance in the dark, say you're parked on the side of the road at night and it's raining, and you wish to make a U-Turn. It's pretty impossible to gauge the distance of cars coming up behind you, whose path you are about to cross.

Overall, I think the convex have more benefits that limitations.

Project for this week was to replace the wing mirrors On the ser3 to 110 door mirror.Rego due next week and I cant see stuff all with the few mirrors I tried without fitting a massive size and they keep moving because of the size.

The local parts shop had only stock arm and after market european mirror head convex and no hinges.

I mounted the Britax arm to the Baulkhead windscreen mount. SER 3. the left arm one click forward the convex mirror is easy to see through the windscreen without a blind spot. Its tilted forward to show from center of rear axle to the roof because if it tilted showing the ground it was giving me a headache.

the RH mirror one click rearward just clears the door. Unlike the LH mirror its easy to use if you have the side of the vehicle in view.
fitted to a hinge like 110 it would be to low.

It was my plan to use an extended landrover arm with Australian spec mirror, or britax long extension round arm and tractor/backhoe mirror when Towing a trailer. It would look silly to fit a larger mirror without the trailer.

If the mirror head is bigger the wind is more able to push the mirror back and in.
My mirrors have a bigger head and longer arms so there is even more tendency for them to fold back when a semi goes past in the opposite direction.
I have reduced the problem by winding up the tension onthe hinge.

I purchased the MudStuff mirrors with the blind spot piece and have been disappointed from Day 1. They vibrate far too much and the internals are shockingly cheap and nasty. The rubber seal around the outside is too loose, the glass isn't a snug fit inside the casing (leading to the vibration) and they kept moving more than the originals did....when I tried to tighten mine this weekend and before it had even tightened to a spot where it was stable, the plastic casing cracked. I tried to remove the bolt but the thread was made of cheese so it destroyed itself and I had to drill the thing apart.

I've complained to MudStuff about it but I don't want a replacement as the original mirrors were more stable and better built so I'm going to go back to using them.
