    LED defender lights recommendations

G'day all, I've had a look online and there are now a few LED lights (indicator, tail lights etc) for defenders available. They seem to be quite expensive once you add in the freight for a full set. Can anyone please recommend where to get them from (in Australia if possible) and are they good quality etc?

I'm after the original look but in LED, and don't want the clear ones. So need four orange, two red, two clear.

And who sells a good little square shaped side marker LED for the side indicators? These don't have to be exact original copy.

    Thanks,
    Andrew.

    Andrew,

Australian suppliers are unfortunately very expensive with LED lights from my recent experience.

The best option is WIPAC LED lights from the UK as they actually make the OEM lights and their sets come with the replacement relay that you need for the indicators. The side indicators are most easily converted with a LED replacement bulb as you would need to convert to a Land Cruiser side indicator if you want full LED...

MPS Trading is an excellent supplier and I've dealt loads with them over the past few years.

Have a look through Dervish's excellent thread on LEDs for Defenders:
LED Defender - Rear Lights, indicators & flasher unit

There's a few links to various sources for lights & great tips on fitting them.

Yeah but proper ones are fully sealed !
And you can (as I did) get clear lenses with coloured LED's - will look smick when I finally mount them !

Wipac ones from paddock spares are fair priced and shipping not bad to NZ. Make sure you get the LED flasher relay as well.

I guess it depends upon your definition of "proper"!

Mine are the original style Clear LED

Very happy with them easy to fit , took 5 mins

Bought mine from Bolt On Bits in the uk. They do post here. No cheap but a lot brighter than the original.

By all means get a Defender. If you get a good one, you'll be happy. If you get a bad one, you'll become a philosopher.
