Don, I dont feel your being critical that you could put people off, after all if you have put up with a Defender I dont think you could be put off by anything. But there really isn't any other comparable modern day vehicle that could be an option is there? There is the Mercedes Sprinter but I doubt that is in the same league. Or possibly another truck that would need suspension upgrade. From what I can see the only option is stepping back into a regular 4WD.
Now, if Iveco made a civilian version of this beasty it would certainly be a solid contender...

The thread heading is not quite right but I am about to put my D90 on the market and enter Iveco territory as well. Single cab vehicle is expected to be delivered to TravelTrucks Brisbane about 9 Feb for fitment of an Explorer module with pop-top. Should look something like this:

Looks fantastic. What sort of dollars for the poptop/canopy?

So to all those who have bought or are buying ivecos, why not one of the other 4x4 trucks on the market like a Canter or NPS300 ?
Has anyone done a comparison of specs?

Base vehicle is about $85k + on road costs
Explorer Module on the back is about $17k
Manual Pop-Top about $5k
More price details can be found here: [ame]http://www.traveltrucks.com.au/images/Accessories/Iveco_Vehicle_Accessories/TT_-SM-EX._SUPPLY__FIT_PRICE_LIST_Jan_15doc.pdf[/ame]
It all adds up with snorkel, bullbar, long range tank, etc., but the above link will give you the dollars.
Our intention is to fitout the module for camping with bed kitchen and storage but no toilet or shower.

I can't answer this question. I think my lack of knowledge on any vehicle was why I went for the iveco. I figured it was the only modern vehicle option in this category. I read a little about other trucks but I got the impression they all needed suspension upgrades first. But modern was my priority with a family of 3 small kids.
That should read wouldn't drive an NPS. Pat
