    Windscreen price

I remember a thread a little while about windscreen prices, but search revealed everything except that one.

I was quoted $330 without rubber and he guessed the rubber would be $180. The others haven't got back to me yet.

In about 2005 I paid $130 for the windscreen I have now.

Does anybody have any suppliers in Sydney, preferably Northern Beaches?

    Jeff

I paid $250 for mine here in Melbourne when I had to get the RWC at the beginning of 2014.

The fitter broke the first windscreen. The guys at the workshop said he dropped it, so I guess his profit margin took a hit that day. It delayed my RWC for a day, and he decided not to charged me for the new rubber. I think it was around the $60 mark.

For the window rubber, yes. Got that from brittish offroad. The glass... not 100% on that. Got it from a local small business. A work mate got his from there also. Must have had a supply of them hanging around lol

Reason I ask is because I got a new screen the other day (aftermarket), it is AWFUL, all wavey and not flat and generally rubbish.... they are going to replace it with genuine Wednesday. They've had 2 goes at sealing the aftermarket screen with no success, lets hope they do better on the new screen. (defender is a 2013)

Yeah, not sure where the fitter got his first screen from, the one he dropped. But I do know the second one was genuine, as he couldn't source another from the same supplier. So the workshop called around and got one in from one of the dealers down here.

Good luck with the new screen. Ian.

Check the [ame="http://protector.com.au/files/ws_catalogue.pdf"]protector catelogue[/ame] and its PGI code RV599, last time I looked (12 months ago) the RRP was $154 - that is just for the glass, not fitted.

I can't remember what it cost me .... maybe $230 to supply glass and fit. Just used the local generic windscreen bloke. I supplied the rubber which I think was around $50 (Britpart) from my local independent mechanic.
