    Just checked the broacher it was metallic not a flat paint. Thought I was going nuts for a second then


    Edit: yes Murray Tonga depeding on the light could look anything from green, grey, brown and purple. I had someone argue with me once that my car was grey!!!

    Hi Guys,

    Sorry if my post appeared a duff steer, but for some reason Land Rover used the same name for two completely different green colors...

    Those cars in the photos are obviously metallic 904 Tonga Green Mts 2ct 04- LRC.904. Confusingly LRC.JUC91 is also called Tonga Green and its definitely a non-metallic green...

    Research shows that "Tonga Green" was a metallic used from 2004 onward with no specific end date and originally a Range Rover color, while "Tonga Green" was a non-metallic between 2006 and 2008 on Defenders only.

    Below a link to a code chart:

    none metallic colour

    One would hope that it was country specific otherwise ordering a green Defender in 2006 could have had mixed results...
