    Have you split the caliper already? I can see how pushing the retainer over the piston would be achievable if it's split. The tutorial mentions using a socket. If a socket was a nice fit over the piston then that could be a nice way of applying even pressure, but I doubt you could do that with the caliper in 1 piece (like I did).

    In short you need something to push the retainer in. You can't use your fingers.
