    Hi

I've run 35 inch rubber for over 7 years on my V8 county.

If you want to drive hard tracks get 'em. The added capability if done right is enormous and its not just diff clearance , its traction, ramp over, f&r clearance and some more traction.

The down side they ain't cheap to do right.

To get it all to work consider

Maxidrive Reduction (33% are right with my v8)
    Lockers
    Pegging the front diff
Running the thick CW&P from ashcroft
    HD CV's
    HD front axles
    Shaving the rear diff
Upping the rear sals axles - too thin stock
Modding (ie raising shock f&r mount with 10+ inch shocks)
Think seriously about bead locks there a lotta wall on a 35" 15 or 16 rims
    Rotate the swivel housing
Run -25mm offset wheel - really helps cross slopes and ruts
Heavy Duty Track and drag link
Wheel arach Flares and modified mudflaps.
Keep a set of 31 tyres & rims for roadworthy
    Long soft springs like flexi-coils.

The only reasons run 35s cause you want to do hard tracks. The defender running gear on 35s doing hard tracks is simply not strong enough.

Rock sliders will be an essential but unrelated bit of gear too.

Maybe that's why we see so many more 110s on 33s.

    I don't follow your comment about 33's.

While the actual width of the tyre may be different but 12.5" in metric is about 317.5mm. A 35" R16 tyre in metric is typically quoted as 315/75R16. Much of a muchness.

BFG sell the KM2 and AT in 35x12.5R15 and in 35x12.5R17. If you want R16 it's quoted in metric.

Thanks so much for the replies guys. MLD your 130 has been somewhat of an inspiration in this turn of events.
Clive22 thanks for that exhaustive list of extra requirements.

My main motivations were to hit up the tougher tracks and just take the 130 to another level, its so beat up that I figure I might as well go all the way with it. Also my brothers 110 needs new rubber and rims so Im trying to help him out being a broke af uni student.

The tyres are on the horizon, I figured it would be an outlay of an extra 1000$ for CW&Ps. I wasnt planning on touching front axles and CVs until I had trouble and just take it easy (albeit on the rough stuff).

I also hadn't considered the roll effect of R15 with a 35" tyre, but I have no doubt Ill be fine with it. My suspension setup is already suitable (pretty similar to MLD's).
