    Squeaky door rubbers

What are the solutions to stop squeaky door rubbers in 2008 Puma?

Two days ago, I sprayed lanolin on 2 of the 5 doors and the squeaks have gone, but I'm unsure whether the effect will last, and so I'm holding off spraying the other 3 doors.

I held off because the rubbers felt a bit tackier after being sprayed with lanolin. I was concerned that the lanolin might soften the rubber and cause it to perish.

It shouldn't damage the rubber's, I've used it in many applications over 20 odd years and never had a problem. It contains no petrochemical solvents, dieselene, or kerosene.

It does however attract dust/dirt. Which might actually improve the sealing qualities of the door rubbers, as the dust will stick to your rubbers before going into the cab.

AutoGlym Bumper and Trim Gel... Quote below from their product sheet. It doesn't attract dirt and dust and its water repellent. I've used it for years and its actually gotten better with technological advances. Water doesn't hang around to turn into leaks either!

"The unpainted external plastic and rubber surfaces on your car can fade over time from a deep black to a washed out grey. Bumper & Trim Gel restores the original colour and leaves a glossy water repellent film.

The gel does not contain colouring or dye so can be used to restore all unpainted plastics to their original colour.

Use on external plastics, vinyl and rubber, including moulded plastic bumpers, grilles, mirror cases, mouldings, wheel arch trims, door handles, vinyl roofs, rubber bumpers, spoilers and mud flaps.

Pro Tip: Bumper & Trim Gel can also be used on rubber door seals in winter to prevent sticking in freezing weather."

    Repco and Autobarn stocks it.

    Cheers,

    Lou
