    Speedo Lights - Broken ?

    Hi All

I noticed that my lights for my speedo were not working, but the rear of the dash was illuminated ... after removing the dash I saw that the 2 white holders for the speedo lights had fallen out, but, the green screw insert that holds it to the rear of the speedo are broken......

1st Question .... How do I replace the green plastic screw in the rear of the speedo casing - part number ? ... can it be replaced ?

2nd Question ..... not trying to force it, how do I remove the shroud surrounding the steering column .. All screws are removed, bit, without breaking something the 2 halves will not come away from the steering column.... it seems as though I must remove the steering wheel to release the 2 halves .... I need to to this so I can pull the dash further forward so I can get behind .....

    See photo attached

    Thanks for your help guys

Not sure on question 1; but with regard to the cover... Just pull it apart.

You shouldn't need to pull the wheel to take it off. Once all five screws are removed (two on each side and one in the center bottom); you should be able to separate the two halves. It does get caught up on the lock barrel; and there is a lip at the top, under the wheel. But a little force will work.

The above is what I've done. I have a 99-01 column. Not sure if the cover different than earlier models.
