Mine will do it occasionally when mounting a kerb etc. As long as it is only intermittent then likely there is no fault or issue.

Mine has done it once in a while for 4 years since I have had it. When I say once in a while it may be once in a month or so.

Given land rover Australia's inability to diagnose and fix simple issues I have not bothered in getting them to look at it as I doubt anything would be resolved.

My TD5 would also do it on occasion so I would say it is quite within normal operation.

    Cheers

Thanks Giles, makes sense. The dealer called me this morning and agreed the service manager will drive it for a few days and hopefully diagnose the problem

I will keep you posted - BTW it happens every trip this silly grinding noise when i am about to come to a halt

    LouisW,
Could the sound your getting be coming from the break pads?
I've had funny noises come after changing to a new set of pads and also when they are worn out (although that couldn't happen on a new car). The noises always happened with light pressure on the pads like you mentioned but had nothing to do with the clutch.
    Just a thought.
