I'd imagine if you used the correct Castrol oil (one of the guys will pipe up with the correct grade and Professional suffix) and filter and you didn't tell them there shouldn't be an issue. Buying it is not as easy as it would seem though. If you find it you'll most probably have to buy at least 25 liters.
The fact remains that they take a dim view on anyone touching Defenders in warranty, especially if they can use it to wiggle out of warranty claims. My dealer never balked at doing services at 10,000km intervals and they are in reality no more expensive than the indie guys here in Perth.
