On a normal home-work-home crawl up to Brisbane and some suburban driving , I would average 10lt/100km with the OEM size tyres on it.

Recently, on a 6000km trip Brisbane / Daintree/Lawn Hill / Rockhampton/Brisbane we averaged 14.5lt/100km, that was fully loaded ( 3.2tons), roof top tent, 255/85 tyres and keeping to the speed limits on GPS 100-110kph (or just a bit over on the wide open roads) .

We were helped a lot on the way to Daintree by a strong tailwind - made it easy to hold 115kph. Coming home we have a strong headwind for the section from Mt Isa to Rockhamptom which made it not so easy to hold 115kph.

I have BAS remap, Alisport Intercooler and no centre muffler, so that would help combat the extra weight/wind resistance etc.

I've just done my first open road run since installing the BAS2 re-map and Alloysport intercooler upgrade.
Firstly I can't believe the acceleration to 110kph is in the same vehicle! The thing rockets!
Secondly, it looks like my fuel consumption has decreased. I'll wait until I've emptied all three tanks (2 sill tanks plus the main) and refilled again, for a direct comparison to previous results but, early indications are looking good. My consumption is generally about 11.6 lt/100km for a range of about 1,200 kms to the fuel light. (I run with an ARB RTT all the time - drops to around 10.6 without it but still with the roof rack).

Unfortunately (or fortunately depending on your point of view) it will take a while for me to get to the empty point as I ride my bicycle so (250 - 350km per week avg) much the D90 gets little use - I only fill it up maybe 1/2 dozen (Kiwi speak for 6) times per year! (Plus my S2a gets a run fairly regularly - it gets LPG filled up maybe twice a year, but the two petrol tanks never get filled and rarely get used).
