Not sucking air in from the top of the wing would help, having the leading edge of the cowl lower than the trailing edge would help with directing debris away from the inlet also. Pat

Stops dirt and water settling into the intake and blocking the drain as well..

Alien has them, and Mrs Tombie has a set on their way...

I have one on the drivers side to help get heat out of the engine bay and if you put your hand up next to it after an hour of driving you can feel it working......

I too have one on the drivers side, my winch solenoid is located under there. Plus it really does help dissipate the heat, especially as the turbo spins away on that side. It's not a bad little hand warmer on a winters day

I changed the heater matrix in the Tdi today,it doesn't have a cowl and the amount of rubbish in the duct and fan box was unreal. Pat

I have been thinking of putting some heavy density foam in the snow cone for when on the dustier trips.
Run the system on recycle and let the foam catch what little gets pasts the flap.
Slip it out when running the blacktop.

The other thing I'm yet to look into is maybe fitting a slide in filter between the ducting and the heater box.
It should not get wet up in under the bonnet.

After that I've only got to seal the 4 doors, tail gate and roof to body join and I'll be right
    Cheers, Kyle
