Has anyone added a pollen / dust filter to their air conditioner if so
what effect has it on the load to the blower fan
the mods that had to be done
the efficency of the air condition with it installed
which filter was used

I fitted a snow cowl, that helped a lot with dust. Pat
Ive been having some ideas of making a sort of sock filter that hangs down inside the air intake grill. Probably made out of vacuum cleaner bag fabric or something along those lines.
Im also thinking about fabricating a filter holder to go over the return air vent in the passenger footwell. Just make it to fit a common size cabin filter that I can get from ryco.
Cheers

I was looking at the air ducting on mine the other day with the view of putting a filter inline.
What I found is the ducting to the heater box intake doesn't line up and has a 10mm gap up one side.
I'm going to investigate if a flat sheet of plastic can be inserted over the intake (it's similar to what a few of the logging trucks do).
Checked on the ones from devon 4*4 as per download the foam is 45ppi and appears to be all weather and the extra pollen 80ppi is not all weather
I have checked with unifilter sock that fits over a snorkle ram 45ppi
When ordering these snorkle socks they must be ordered DRY and not oiled (chemicals / smell inside vehicle )
I was told to use either vit E oil / or baby oil approx tea spoon per use and wash with soapy water BUT make sure it really dry before applying oil
I have got a snorkle ram off e bay so now to manufacture a base and pipe for ram to fit on mudguard
I have seen a lot of photo's on here lately with one of these on the cabin air intake. I wonder if they have a filter? (I have even seen one on the drivers side)

Out of curiosity, do the socks and foams that are rated in ppi generally need replacing, or can they be cleaned and re-used over and over?
For example, the Devon 4x4 one... re-useable by cleaning?
