So, in all other areas that the treatment was applied it prevented the metal from being rust affected.

My next Disco will have a snake camera poked down the length of the rails prior to purchase and therefore prior to any rust prevention treatment being applied.

In which case you'd best invest in a snake camera and check your chassis rails for rust on a regular basis...
