As I stated, there may have already been rust inside the rails prior to the rust prevention/rust proofing treatment being applied. I can't rule this out.
So, in all other areas that the treatment was applied it prevented the metal from being rust affected.
My next Disco will have a snake camera poked down the length of the rails prior to purchase and therefore prior to any rust prevention treatment being applied.
