Good stuff mate!! Make the most of it...the smell, the excitement, THE SMILE.

This may sound a bit corny, but while the feeling will subside a bit, it never disappears. For 15 years I was with a company that rotated their new cars every 36mths. That's a lot more newbies than you would typically go through but I still couldn't wait to jump in the brick to get the smile back on the dial.

    It's your ticket...enjoy the journey.

I had a 400km drive from the dealer to home. Just enjoy the drive, stop occasionally to take roadside photo's, try to wipe the grin off your face and don't forget it's a 6 speed box!

Try to vary your revs and speed on the new engine if you can. Ie don't drive the whole 300km in 6th at 2200rpm.
The other treason of thought is to give it hell during the break in as opposed to babying it.

Others might have a more educated reason behind the different methods.

    Congratulations.

What happened to the test drive? What have you bought?

Take some music. Once you get the speed up it will come apparent as to why they provide such a loud stereo

Enjoy! It will be the most amazing drive

Great news and congratulations. It seems to have taken less time to buy the Defender than to arrange a test drive! Did I miss a post or something - presumably the test drive was a success???

Thanks everyone, I cant believe I will have it tomorrow . I want to get going by 7.30am at the latest to get to Townsville by lunchtime. I managed to try a newish 110 locally and I just bought the one I am getting unseen without the test drive. I found the one I tried to have loads of grunt, the seating position is not perfect, but but longer seat rails will fix that. My new Defender 110 is light green with black leather seats and privacy glass. I had the non privacy glass windows tinted and a factory tow bar fitted. I decided on a personal plate too it is going to be DEF 007 (give me a wave if you see me around) , I thought why not have a bit of fun
I think the 300 odd kms home is going to be fun
