Mine is on the little shelf thingy on the right of the steering column, very happy with it there.

I thought about putting it there, but it is a handy place to throw my house keys

The installer said our P3 was too bulky to fit on the shelf next to the steering wheel because it has to be mounted level to work properly to measure the braking effort as the vehicle decelerates and it would have stuck out and been hit by my knees. I thought about mounting it on the facia in front of the gear levers, but keeping it level would have been difficult and I didn't want it to interfere with the gears in any way. So, I asked the installer to put it on the passenger side shelf. He wasn't too happy about that because of the distance from the driver's seat, but did it. So far having it on that side has not caused any problems as it works automatically anyway.

Mick, it only has to be "square" to the car, not level. You can actually mount it upside down, so long as its square front to back.

I chuck the house keys either in the cubby box or the drink bottle holders.

Redarc have a unit with a remote mounting option - only a small dial and LED which I mounted directly into the centre dash of my 2013DC - with the main box up to 1/2 a metre away on the end of a lead. Hid this bit behind the inspection panel on the LHS of the centre dash. Doesn't have to be level or square - I just stuck it on with some double sided tape.

Works very well - easy to access the dial - and unless you knew it was there you wouldn't even notice it.

Yes, I only found out about the Redarc remote unit after I had bought the P3 online as it was recommended on a caravan site, but I didn't realize until it arrived that it was so bulky and had to be mounted level, so if I had it over again I'd probably go for the Redarc remote unit as it could be hidden except for the control.

We have the Redarc TowPro in Emmas Defender...

Just a single button mounted near the stereo...

The unit is hiding behind the dash...

You are not limited to 1/2m, buy a longer cat5 cable and you can mount anywhere.

I went to the trouble of installing a towpro......but it would work with my electric over hydraulic install....went back to P3

Mine is also mounted in front of my left knee at hits it from time to time it's a stupid damn place.

At the same time I have no idea what the electric brake controller is supposed to do or how it works.
It's not broken. It's "Carbon Neutral".
