Thread: Puma AC condenser leak

There are sealants that can be injected into the system to stop small leaks like yours. One such brand is 'Cliplight Superseal Automotive'.
Cant comment on effectiveness as I've never used it. But for $60-$80 it'd be worth a try!

I've had this problem and it caused my compressor to seize as well due to leaking oil with the refrigerant.

Had an acquaintance who works on Rovers do a bit of conversion with a few Jap parts to make it work (cooling coil and thermostat). Not as cold so far but it beats driving around in an oven.

Apparently, you cannot get just the original cooling coil from LR or anyone selling LR parts. You can only get the coil with the entire box! This being the case, you can expect to pay accordingly. The only consolation you have, if you can call it that, is that you have the original box to part out in the event that something other than the cooling coil fails in the future.

Given the not so optimized nature of the conversion done to my truck, I will eventually be saving up for an original box and coil once I've sorted out all the issues I've inherited from the previous owner.

mine did the same. 07 110. slow leak it took about 2 weeks to stop working and two visits to garage to actually find where it was leaking out. not common but $$$$

A LR dealer told me my condenser was leaking and quoted about $2200 to replace it. The leak was a actually coming from one of the pipe joints. When I was looking for a replacement condenser, I found that the late td5 condenser is the same unit, so might be a bit easier to find. It's not unknown for condensers to leak, might be a stone strike or similar, but I would have it pressure-tested before replacing.
