Much more character, comfort and parking visibility than the Holden Colorado I was previously driving!
    I completely agree.

Also some other virtues even my wife concedes for the 110 is that with the kids and two cocker spaniels it is exceptionally easy to clean (in fact I now even wonder about why have carpet at all)and there is a huge amount of storage in the back.

Also in Perth we have discovered most other traffic gets out of my way especially if I want to merge in. I think the height is intimidating.

Also for the height just make sure you find car parks that have 2.1m. That works for me (just). I also had to get removable roof racks so I could get into my work car park.

Main thing is the Defender is a quirky car but you get used to it quickly.

I use my 90 as a daily drive.

I don't drive it off road

My wife prefers the 90 when she goes into the city and with the exception of parking lot high restrictions, prefers it to the Range Rover.

I only drive the Range Rover to Thredbo or long trips.

Stop questioning yourself mate - DO IT. If you really find (which I doubt you would) it not working for you sell it the resale value is outstanding.

AND. You can drive you tarmac 90 on tar roads the is no law against it !!!!

You not nuts at all, on a recent trip to the UK I borrowed my Dad's car . I have only driven 4x4's for a long time and getting in and out of his car was a nightmare and I am quite fit and only 43. Also on the motorway I was so low when a truck passed me I felt like I was driving a skateboard.

A fair few comments about the 90's height....
They are actually a fair bit lower than 110s.

This pic is of one of my 90's.(standard tyres and suspension).

I drive my 90 daily and in city traffic. I do love it but after two years that's changing.
It's standard height with roof racks and will fit under 2.1m.
I've soundproofed it to a good level and added an awesome stereo with 4 speakers, amplifiers and a sub.
    Sounds awesome.
It's been remapped, de cat, egr removed and has a larger intercooler.
The main issues are the manual gearbox with a low first and second gear.
As stated earlier people almost run up your arse when you change from first to second.
The clutch is heavy but I've changed the pedal spring to a newer style one and that helped a
    little.
It is still like driving a tractor around the city especially in first and second gear.
    3-5th gear is awesome.
I reckon if I fitted and auto box and new front and rear Ashcroft atb Diffs and front shaft and flanges it would be an awesome city car.
Less slack in the driveline and an auto to make it so easy to drive.

If you like the idea give it a go, don't worry what other people say. If you like it you will deal with the noise the having to have another bite at the car park. Iv had vehicles I used around Perth as daily commuting that had ratchet lockers in the rear. Horrible to park corner and in the wet. But I did nt care because I loved what I was driving an that is what matters happiness
