2.2 tdci heater and cooling system

    Hi All,

While crossing over from Gloucester to Armidale today the heater in my nearly new 110 decided to stop working (travel was very slow as we had deep snow to contend with) . Strange I thought and in Walcha I got out to check the connections, fuse etc. All good. About 10 km before Armidale the temperature gauge started to go up and down. I quickly pulled over to investigate. I noticed that the radiator overflow was empty so I topped it up. There was no obvious leaking.

I drove it for about 10km to Armidale and checked the water level. No dice empty again. I have stopped and rung land rover assist. The last time I had a similar issue I had blown a head on that td5. I was wondering if this is something that people have seen and what the common symptoms/solutions are.

Sounds like you may have a leak through the heater matrix

We're you checking fuses as the fan had stopped working, or when you say the heater had stopped working do you mean that the heater was no longer blowing hot air but would still blow cold?

Yes, it would blow air, but it was cold/room temperature. It turned out to be a pipe into the engine block that had a hole in it near the clamp. a stop off at the land rover dealership in Tamworth got that sorted.
