Just got back tonight to Perth from Albany. Did just over 500km with ease.

Had a couple of those bloody drivers in front. Do 90 kph wherever there is a double white line or a bend and then up to 110 wherever you might be able to pass them.

Anyway I have mastered the Defender wind up where you start accelerating a good bit of time in advance and then pull out and pass in a blaze of glory (in my mind at least). I love seeing the surprised look on people's faces when they see what they think is an old style Landy passing them! Even better when it is a Toyota!

Also I am not sure if I would want to go much faster but I have been up to 135kph when I was passing a truck. To be honest it didn't feel too bad but I was going in straight line.

You are right about the surprised look from Toyota drivers. I just got home and on the way home I got stuck behind a small caravan towed by a V8 petrol 200 series Cruiser. I ended up passing romping passed with ease in an overtaking lane he did look rather surprised to see a green classic looking Defender flying passed him with a caravan on the back.

A bloke in a holden ute tried to drag me off at the lights this morning. Sorry mate, for that bit of a shock.
    Cheers, Billy.

Yeah I am finding it hard to resist flooring the throttle in 2nd, 3rd, 4th around the city. Just feels so good...

Not sure if I will see better fuel economy figures as a result of the tune - until I am over that.

Stand by. Later in the week I'll check my fuel economy and let you know. So far it's looking normal.
That Commodore was an SS too. A mate from work saw it and he was still laughing this morning.
    Cheers, Billy.

Economy is good following the BAS remap.

Recent trip saw 10.6 litres per hundred kilometres with highway speeds up to 108kph.

Second stage of the trip returned 10.9 litres per hundred kilometres with a mornings 4x4 work including low range and then highway speeds up to 115kph.

My D90 had driver and passenger with light luggage, steel bulbar, winch with steel cable and a steel expedition roof rack on AT tyres. Happy with those numbers (manually calculated as the ultraguage needs to be recalibrated).

Element of surprise I'm guessing.. Because a decent driver in an SS/FPV will obliterate a Defender - tuned or otherwise...

I get done by old corollas... The DCPU isn't a drag master.

Fair enough. Given that he only had 60 meters to get me in, he should have had better reflexes.
But hey Tombie? Can't a bloke be allowed a bit of delusion, just for a little while?
    Cheers, Billy.
