    Puma fresh air control.

Can anyone here tell how to operate the control to switch from recirculate to fresh air with the control wire disconnected on my puma. The control wire has come off or broken from the control knob and I am currently in Kununurra with a car full of dust because the flap won't operate via the knob on the dash. I don't want to pull the dash out to do it as I have had a bit of a go and did not succeed.i have had a poke around under the dash by removing 2 panels but can't seem to see anything. I still have the Gibb and Pilbara to go and don't want to cleaning dust every night.
    Thanks. Lindsay

    Hi Lindsay,

You can reach it from the engine bay. There is a white plastic control arm just below the blower motor on the passanger's side.

    Cheers

Mine did the same during my last simmo trip, the cable operates a flap that can be accessed from under the bonnet as Beery said.
To fix the cable it has most likely fallen off the control lever, you need to take the heater dash control fascia off and you will see where the cable is clipped in place on the heater controls are.
I think the reason why the loop in the cable falls off is due to the additional effort that is required when the fresh/recirc flap levers get dust in them.
