    Tyre Kicking at Scoresby

    G'day guys,
As some of you will be aware, I am in the hunt for some new tyres in the next couple of weeks. My decision making process is in pieces , I cant make one without looking at them, on the ground so to speak.

So, we have an event coming up next weekend in Scoresby, to which I am hoping I can entice some Defender owners to come to, with their Defender's, so I can inspect tyres. Seeing various tyres on the car for me seems to be the only way I'm going to make up my mind I think, bar some incredibly low priced deal somewhere.

So I would ask, kill two birds with one stone, bring your Defender's to the event for me to look at , and cruise around the Steam rally and have a look at some really cool old machinery
Details of the event below, the more the merrier.

Vic..National Steam Centre, Ferntree Gully. 26-July-2015.

Fair call Chops but keep in mind.
Pretty patterns sell tyres, whilst some of the more "boring" patterns often perform far better.

What you can't see if the compound, wear rates or the construction.

What is it your hoping to achieve with your new rubber? Tyre Kicking at Scoresby

Hi Chops , I would love to come , but will leave on Saturday to the UK for 5 weeks . I live just down the road , from the steam museum . In the last twenty odd years I would have past this place thousands of times and never been in there ! When we had a meet that the Caribbean Gardens a year or so a go , I had a top day . So I will wish you the very best of luck for the day . Hopefully you will get a good turn out , and even sort some tyres out !!.. Jim

Hi Mike, I know what your saying, it's not just the "pretty" patterns I'm after, but looking and talking with owners gives a better insight as to how they perform.
My aim is a good A/T, but having said that, I had a good run out of MTZ's on th Disco, as well as, God forbid I should mention them, but I've had excellent runs out of Coopers.
But they do different things on different cars, and I now have the Defender, so not much point worrying about how they all faired on the Disco.

Will be working over the weekend marcus but you're welcome to come by work if you want to see a set of worn out, chopped to pieces KM2s on the 130! Or let me know if you feel like a drive down to Gippsland.
