Why not just run 255/85R16 on disco or HD rims?
What width tire are you wanting?

Ok so I've been reading to many threads trying to find the answer im chasing but just keep changing my mind everytime I open a new one....
So im about to buy new rims for my 110, I can get 16x8 zero offset King wheels though work for the right price bit unsure if I will regret not going -25 with dynamic wheel. I plan on running 33" tyres give or take depending on mood.
So was wondering whats peoples views on what is better zero offset or neg 25 anyone fitted either and wished they had gone the other or ended up changing to the other and reasons. Both have there plus and minus from what i have read
Zero fit easier no extended flares softer on wheel bearing but can still let tyres rub rear spring on articulation and dont increase steering lock all that much with fat tyres
neg 25 look tough give better steering lock with stops wound in dont tend to rub bit need the extra cost of extended flares and seemingly are harder on wheel bearings.
Any help or advice would be great as I can't make up my mind.
cheers Brian

Original HD steel rims are the best offset with 235/85R16's. Simple.
Yeah but he wants 33s.
From what I have read on the forums:
255 on +20 rims (HD rims)
10.5" on +0 rims
12.5" on -25 rims
Someone who has actually done it can confirm though haha as I have only done 255/85 on HD rims on my Perentie with no rubbing. And they are a tall, I think they measure to 33.8".

Cheer for the replys tyre sizes im thinking of off the top of my head are either 285/75r16 or slightly wider 305/70/r16 personly I think defenders suit slightly wider tyres.

Mines a TD5 110 currently running on 265/75 r 16 on the boost alloys have a remap and lift fitted and yeah I came from the dark side about a year ago so could explain why I proffer wider tyres haha tend to do a fair bit of beach work and weekends away playing in the hills showing up my mates.
The tyres I mentioned before arent quite the 33" but very close im a bit hesitate to go to larger with out upgrading axles and cv but once done I could go larger as mentioned depends how im feeling. At the moment im leanimg towards the 285/75 and zero for simplicity but worried i will end up having to get a new set of rims in 6 months to a year coz of rubbing.
Cheers
I have cooper STT 285/75r16 (from memory, they are 33") on zero offset rims and have no issues.
I have mates with -25 and you definitely need flares, doesnt seem to add anything other than spraying more mud everywhere.

Cheers tangus they suit the defender quiet well and yeah 285/75 is basically a 33 did you find you were able to get any more steering lock with this combo as this is one of the things I want to improve by changing offset from the +33 I have now with the boosts.
