6th gear towing with Puma 110

Hey Puma owners! Do you tow in 6th with a decent load on the back? I've got a boat, weighs about 1800kg total. My 2013 110 pulls it easily in 6th at 110km/h, question is should I

    What are people's thoughts?

Yes, but don't drop below about 2000 rpm. Better to change down. I towed a very heavy trailer load of mulch up a very steep hill yesterday and it held 80km/h and just stayed above 2000 rpm. I was ready to drop down, but didn't need to. It's happiest between 2-3000 rpm, where the most torque is found. Remember, it's tuned for torque and slogging, not high revs.

I just towed my 1650kg van 1750km with a couple of hundred kgs of stuff. I did most of the trip in 6th, I also asked the dealer about this when I bought the car and they sad use the gear it is happy in. My truck has towed 125km/h in 6th gear up a hill overtaking someone, dont worry.

I reckon the R380 is ok in 5th too as the gear is supported properly and not cantilevered.

Well, it never stopped me towing a horse float with an 800kg horse in 5th.
Although low range 2nd gear starts were the norm.
