Tailshaft sliding joint greasing
How often should the sliding joints on the Defenders tailshafts be greased. I would like to do mine but on my Puma the absence of a grease nipple there means disconnecting one end of tailshaft and pulling out the the sliding shaft and greasing it. Maybe drilling and tapping a hole for a grease nipple might be the way to go. Most other 4x4's I have had there is a nipple there. Any suggestions.

Is there a grub screw that you can unscrew and thread a nipple in ?
Otherwise leave it. Sealed assemblies generally have excellent lives (if the seals are unbroken)
Can't help but pump a few squirts into the Tdi one every 10,000km or so.

My Disco has a teeny grub screw (hex head) in the front shaft.
It's like passing a little country town on the highway, blink and you'd miss it. Especially when covered with mud/oil etc.
(the shaft, not the Town).
