Yeah I will so I'll probably go 130HD springs.

wonder how much bolt on portals cost LOL

if I jsut want more flex, do I just go for longer travel shocks?

Portals will set you back in the order of $25k.

Longer travel shocks are also longer when fully compressed, meaning you need to raise your mountimg points or lower your bump stops to stop the shocks punching themselves to death (bottoming) when you bottom your suspension (say through a creek crossing on the Development Road up the Cape).

The cheapest way to get a substantial increase in flex is to disconnect your sway bars off road - it really helps (the front end in particular).

I think I saw a member before with quick disconnect sway bars?

    Flex is not the be-all-end-all...

Lockers or ATBs will sort most traction issues.

Got 50+ terrafirma on the 90. Been on for years and done 1000s of kms on bad corrugations (gunbarrel, canning) and not had any issues. The shocks stay cool compared to standard and the springs do not sag.

That said, I bought them when terrafirma were starting up in th uk. Perhaps the standards have gone down since or I just got lucky.

The ride is firm when unloaded. Terriblyfirma! But with all the kit on for touring it smoothes out and is exceptionally stable on the dirt and pretty level round bends with roof tent and no anti roll bar.

I got medium duty and had to use a couple of 10mm spring shims to get it sitting level.

If I had to replace probably wouldn't go for tf again looking at recent reviews.

not all the terrafirma stuff is crap, they make alot of stuff that's a big call to make.
I've got a decat pipe from terrafirma its been great
Koni raids are fn massive I think most people really don't need shocks that big they're also very expensive.

    Terra Firma 50mm

I put the kit on my County 3.9 30,000ks ago. Have done Simpson and the a number of SA trips with lots of gear and 4 adults, no failures. Plenty of travel and good comfort. I am sure there is lots of better gear out there, but I am happy. Please note, I like my car and drive it with care and respect.

Talking to gwyn lewis. His 30mm kit seems to be the go. 1' lift and 11' travel I believe it was. if my calculations are right its $2525 aud without shipping. so not the cheapest. but I wont need to do shafts and I'll still get great flex out of it.

Yes you will need to do shafts...

Every time if goes the long flex it will lock up the joint and try to shear it or the TC apart...

You can't get away from it....
