Hi Longtimer,
I took the power from the factory cig lighter for all my aux switches, (with an inline 2A fuse to protect them). I also connected to the dash illumination circuit at the cig lighter.
I made up a sheet steel "platform" under the drivers seat for and aux fuse panel, which is fed from the aux battery. Getting the wiring through the bulkhead into the dash is a real PITA. There are large ovalish rubber grommets on either side of the fire wall that you can use to pass the wiring.
I made the mistake of using the drivers side, (I used this side because the distance is shorter). The problem with this side of the car is that all the hot parts, (exhaust/turbo), are on this side, and are difficult to keep the wiring away from.
Hope this helps,

Thanks Tim,
Your reply was indeed helpful.
I suppose the only other question I have is which is the best way to run the main power cable over to the drivers side box, as I assume that this is the best place to put the relay and fuse/distribution box. Over the gearbox? Around the front of it? Behind it?
Recommendations gents?
I get to fit it all tomorrow.
I have from sun up till 3......
I ran the main tank down this week, and i couldn't have timed it better. Just 100m from the servo the light came on. Filled it all up. 130L later..... That gives me a pretty good 1200 km range on the bitumen.
Now I just have to get the pumps to run from switches in the cab.
I can't find any leaks.
But I can smell diesel.
..... Perhaps the LHS breather pipe at the tank..... No drips on ground.... No nothing.....
So I will need to pump some fuel out this week.
Cheers,
Phill.

I try to follow the factory cabling routes as much as possible, other than that it's a "follow your nose" exercise, and stay away from hot and/or spinny bits I guess....
Cheers,
Tim
