    Congrats, I loved my Defender but I don't think I could give up the D3 now. I will only go to a D4. I have thought about a 110 though. I had a 90 which I loved but too impractical. I do like having a car in warranty. My mind is made up, sell the F6 and get a D4, but I did love my Defender. Mmmm. I had the MTRs and if I bought one again I would go the Contis. They are so good offroad you don't need MTRs. I have found MTRs get noisier as they wear.

    I'm 6'4" and the first time I sat in defender , I said to myself , you have to be joking,(poor legroom , narrow seating position, no elbow space , had hunch to look out the side window.ergonomic that are not. Just took delivery of my 130 about 3 month ago now and I just love diving her, my wife has even longer legs than me and she was amazed how comfortable it was to drive coming home from the north coast the other week. So much so , she wants to trade the Freelander 2 in for a 90. And Freelander is a mile eater . I also went for the Kesswick green with white roof and came with the conti's ,I never had so many strangers come up and tell me"great car mate" have to say I'm loving the conti's great alround tyre. Surprisingly good on the beach, great traction in the slop. Hangs on in the gravel and reasonably quiet on the road.
    You have made a decision you'll never regret , congratulations Oh dear, what have I done...🏼

    I also have the mid life crisis.
    Have a 7 month old D4. Decided I wanted a Defender.

    I got the defender a few weeks ago, havent driven the D4 since (trying to sell it).
    Had no urge to drive the D4, I just love the defender.

    Sore left leg for the first week!!!

    It's going to be a long 6 months, but it will give me time to come to terms with selling the D4.

    Nice, I got the contis.. I am okay with them on the road but I have not been so happy with them off-road when compared to my previous bfg mud terrains.

    110 on order

    I too have ordered the 110 with a delivery of February(Keswick Green, white roof, steel rims), although the salesperson just threw out a random date.
    I'm off to the Cape to break her in, and the last Defender I drove was a Mark 2 30 years ago...
    So this begs the next Q;
    Will the Conti's be ok for the Cape or do I need buy hardcore Mud tyres?, the group I'm going with all have Jap things, lifted etc, hard core tyres etc.
    Other Mods I'm intending on getting are Bull bar(can anyone recomend a good brand for the deefer), UHF,Driving lights and thinking about long range tank and swing arm for spare tyre..Thoughts?

    I was set to request the Contis on mine but at the contract signing they were the default.

    Once the basic agreement was done, the dealership had an attractive young lady come in and try to sell me paint protection, window protection, electronic rust prevention, leather protection and something else I think - for somewhere north of $3000.
    They also offered the one day driving course at that time, which I did want.

    Soon after the road is graded, you could drive a 2wd car up to the Cape if you really wanted to (via peninsula development road, not tele track). If others can make it towing camper trailers etc, you'll be fine in a 110 whatever your tyre situation. I was expecting a bit more extreme terrain during my trip in 2011. Admittedly in a Toyota, not a Defender, but the situation has been corrected since then. Besides a few river crossings (including managing entry/exit banks), the terrain wasn't nearly as bad as our party was expecting.
