Might be having a mid-life crisis. I've just taken Tamworth Land Rover's last build slot for a 110 - dec build, feb delivery. Have ordered Keswick Green with white roof, dual finish alloys, premium leather and cold climate pack. Need to decide now between black or painted arches and whether to get the Contis or the MTRs.
It's going to be a long 6 months, but it will give me time to come to terms with selling the D4.
Cheers,
Jon

Nice work Jon congrats.
I see you're based in Syd but ordered from Tamworth, were they the last dealer you could find with a slot? Seriously tempted to get a last order in ourselves but can't justify it sadly, you can never have too many Defenders in the family...
We love the MTRs but would probably go the contis next time around... just because of road noise and the bit of extra mpg, we've been doing more fwy miles than we expected in the 90 and they add up. Also bear in mind the MTRs are harder to replace in Oz, they are not the same Wrangler MTRs you get here.

I just happened to be passing through Tamworth and called in to the dealer. They were good to deal with and the offer was too good to refuse. The Dec build slot was just what they had left, so yes nearly the last. Feb delivery is as quoted from the factory and consistent with previous orders, but I wont be surprised if that blows out to March. From what I've been told, production is being extended until February but all the Australian build slots have been allocated.
Contis and painted arches are as ordered and will probably stay that way. Had MTRs on the D2 and liked them, but mindful of the the difficulty replacing them so will probably give the Contis a go. Will be doing a lot of bitumen as I will set it up as a tourer so probably more appropriate.
Was a bit of a conversion. Took a new one for drive up the Hunter a couple of weeks ago. It was my first long drive on the road in one. At the start I was thinking no, I'll stick to the Disco but it just kept growing on me. After 3 hours driving I didn't wan't to get out. Even my wife was converted.
Now the planning starts.
Cheers,
Jon
Contis are a great tyre. Long lasting and quiet!☺

The extra grunt is unbelievable.![]()
Congrats on the order. Great colour. I'd go the black wheel arches with the Keswick not that I'm biased.
