Yes, they fit perfectly. I've got 7.50 Michelin XZL's on heavy duty "Wolf" wheels on my 130.

The punctures comment, I would put down to driver care. I've personally seen latitude cross and their earlier equivalent do extensive bush work, from scrambling along rocky tracks, gibber roads, sand, mud, the whole lot, without a problem in the world.

You will be hard pressed to find a better tyre than a Michelin. It's just that they don't participate in the chest beating competitions.

Have to disagree with you Beery, it's the side walls of the latitudes that really let them down. XZL's are a different matter, they are tough I'd go with them any day (but they're not easy to get) But over 20 years of driving rocky outback roads, it's the humble bridgestone 661's that don't let me down and get my vote. Chest beating? Most don't even know they exist.

Fair enough, I dont doubt your good run with the Desert Duelers, but I haven't experienced your problems with the Latitudes.

YOLO110, another thing to consider, not that its a big issue on a 90, is turning circle.
Wider tyres limit your steering lock. I replaced the 235 tyres that my 130 came with for the 7.50s and found I could wind the steering lock stops in a long way. It made a big difference.

Very good point re turning re turning circle Beery. 235/85 16's aren't that much wider, still skinny' really and are easier to get these days all over the country Ive found. Strangely even up north. Otherwise it's only crappy Dunlop road grippers.

D661's are entirely different to the old standard Desert Duellers

Hey where do you get your XZL's? I've always found them hard to get.

Just a local independant tyre shop. He does mostly heavy vehicles and sells a lot of Michelins so he knows the range pretty well and had no trouble getting me a set of ZXL's.

I've gone from 7.50x16 ZXL's to 235/85/16 A/T's on the Tdi and from 235/85/16 A/T to 265/75/16 GG's on the TDCi and I haven't found any difference in the turning circle of either vehicle. Pat
